Montenegro is one of the most desirable travel destinations in Europe and when you visit it, you will understand why! Although a very small country, Montenegro has something to offer for each visitor. Getting to Montenegro

Montenegro is located in the Western part of the Balkan Peninsula, bordering Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Albania. Montenegro has two international airports – Podgorica (TGD) and Tivat (TIV) with very good connections to European capitals, including main travel hubs such as Istanbul, London, Frankfurt, Moscow, and Paris. In addition, there are also two close-by airports our clients use to visit Montenegro. Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) in Croatia is only around 20 km from the Montenegrin border, while Tirana Airport (TIA) in Albania is around 120km from the border, with a good road connection.

Montenegro is easily accessible by road from all bordering countries and acknowledges your driving license for your personal or rental cars. Visa Regime

Montenegro has a very favorable and liberal visa regime for short-term and tourism or business stays. As a result, EU, UK, USA, Swiss, Canadian, Japanese, Iceland, Norwegian, Australian, and New Zealandia citizens can travel to Montenegro visa-free for up to 90-day stays. In addition, people who hold a valid Schengen, UK, or USA visa can usually visit Montenegro and stay for up to 90 days visa-free. Moreover, Montenegro has a special visa regime for travelers from China and Russia, with longer visa-free entries or stays.

When it comes to Covid-19, Montenegro doesn’t have any special requirements for entering the country.

Culture and History

Montenegrin people are very friendly, open and easygoing. It is very easy to make friendships in every step and people are more than happy to help strangers. Montenegrins love to drink their coffee at cafes and restaurants and even do business while sitting back and enjoying their favorite sip. One might easily get used to this kind of life dynamics, which is pretty favorable and interesting for digital nomads.

Montenegro is a multi-cultural society, with citizens of different nationalities and religions all living together and getting along well. Although Orthodox Christian religion is the most common one, there is a number of Catholic Christian and Muslims and they are an important part of Montenegrin society. Montenegro has a very eventful and rich history, which is marked by monuments and museums and is visible in old towns, churches and fortresses. If you decide to explore it, you will hear many stories about survival, historic wars, failing conquerors, and the fight for freedom. Throughout history, the main influence came from Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires, which you can mostly see in architecture throughout the country.

Staying in Montenegro

In general, Montenegro is a very good place for living and doing business. A small country in which everything is within a 2-hour drive reach. Living expenses are significantly lower than in Western Europe and the USA or in Asia hotspots. For instance, it is pretty easy to find long-term accommodation, but be ready to pay a higher price on the coast, especially during the summer months. Every part of the country has its advantages for staying, whether you want a city, or a peaceful, secluded place. The lifestyle, in general, is easy going, as people in Montenegro like to hang out in cafes and you will easily make friends.
