In January 2023, the Government of Montenegro adopted the changes to the visa regime, by which it canceled the possibility for UAE residence permit holders to visit our country visa-free.
Basically, UAE citizens can still visit Montenegro and spend up to 90 days without a visa. But non-UAE citizens, who have a UAE resident permit can’t visit Montenegro without a visa anymore. This, of course, goes only for people coming from countries for which Montenegro requires a visa.
However, even citizens of the countries that need a visa for Montenegro, can enter visa-free and spend up to 90 days in the country in case they have one of the following visas: European Union (Schengen), Australia, Iceland, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, United Kingdom, USA, and Switzerland.
If you are not sure if you need a visa, check for your country on our Montenegro Visa Regime page.
